Al Henderson: Dumbing down - the average BBC reader/viewer knows who Apple are and what they do. They don't know about ARM or the bits inside their iPad, and neither do they care. And I don't mean by that comment, that you are one of those people, +John Godsland :-) I tend to use the BBC for a lot of my news etc.

Aidan Reid: ah right, i get you. doh. Arm used to make the cpu's for the Acorn computers many moons ago. My old man still uses a Risc PC & finds that far quicker then his intel iMac for web browsing.

John Godsland: Absolutely +Aidan Reid, so why did the Beeb put with Apple in the headline? It makes no sense given that ARM design chips for so many companies.
