Andrew Kolbus: Not really the same thing, but still amusing: I was using a recipe that called for wine (these are always great, since as the chef I get to finish the bottle while I cook). In the recipe, however, it said to make sure the wine is vegan. 06/19/2012

Jennifer Bennett: This amuses me, since soy sauce was literally invented as an alternative to fish sauce, as the buddhists were forbidden to eat meat. *shrug* A quick google search shows many people don't know that soy sauce is just fermented soy beans, so perhaps they can gain a share of idiot customers by labelling theirs as vegetarian? 06/18/2012

Scott Hatch: If Mercury gets you depressed, then I'm going to make you feel good. Kids were right to avoid liver, beef & pork liver is often heavy with mercury (thanks to coal fired power plants).
